Abercorn Cottage sits in the heart of the peaceful border village of Leitholm. This lovely stone built end terraced cottage has been tastefully furnished throughout and its double frontage makes the accommodation deceptively spacious. The garden to the rear of the property boasts a truly tranquil ambience and is a haven for relaxation; it overlooks open farmland and is some 90ft in length with patio furniture, a BBQ and summer house to enjoy watching the abundance of bird life seeking their daily feed. A warm welcome awaits guests to the unique location of Leitholm, being only 6 miles north of the England/Scotland border. The first 'border toon' of Coldstream offers many facilities and is the birthplace of the Coldstream Guards, which are now the oldest British regiment. The nearby Hirsel Estate boasts wonderful woodland walks and a superb 18 hole golf course, horse riding and fly fishing. The picturesque market town of Kelso is only 8 miles west. With its cobbled stones it was once described by Sir Walter Scott as"the most romantic if not the most beautiful place in Scotland". Kelso is situated on the banks of the salmon rich River Tweed at its junction with the Teviot and is protected to the north by the Lammermuir Hills and the wild, lonely beauty of the heather capped Cheviots to the South. It lies in one of the most fertile valleys in the country and will appeal to walkers and cyclists who wish to explore the many challenging routes. The vibrant city of Edinburgh is within an easy hour's drive and the elegant Georgian town of Berwick is 15 miles east ensuring Abercorn Cottage is an idyllic rural retreat and an excellent base to explore the Scottish borders and north Northumberland alike.Property has gas central heating.
