| Acorn Cottage is located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, in the popular village of Aberfoyle. This single storey cottage is beautifully presented, with great attention to details. The lounge has two leather sofas, a large wood burning stove and large picture windows making the room bright and airy. There is a large kitchen, fully fitted and well equipped with a dining area. The kitchen has access straight onto the decking at the side of the property leading to a spacious garden with raised patio area. From the back of the garden there is direct access onto the hillside and ancient woodland. Both bedrooms are beautifully co ordinated, with satellite TV and DVD. This fantastic cottage is nestled down a quiet lane yet only 500 yards from all the village amenities. Guests of Acorn Cottage are welcome to the use of free river and loch side fishing. Loch Ard (4 miles) is simply stunning, with small islands and a crannog to explore; boat hire is available on the loch. This is an excellent location for outdoor enthusiasts with miles of forest trails to explore and the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest is right on the door step. The Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb like Ben Lomond, Ben A'an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi with an abundance of wildlife to spot including ospreys, red squirrels and pine martens to name but a few. There are lots of activities for every age and interest including, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safari's, quad biking and sailing. For the adventurous Aberfoyle has a high wire forest adventure, with the longest zip wire in Britain. Aberfoyle also has an 18 hole golf course. From this central location you can easily travel and explore. It is an area steeped in history and there are lots of places of interest to visit. The Glengovne Distillery producing Highland Single Malt Whisky, is only 8 miles south at Dumgoyne. The Loch Katrine Steamship "Sir Walter Scott" is a great cruise, reached by a thrilling drive over the twisting undulating "Duke's Pass", or experience the 3 Lochs Forest Drive, Blair Drummond Safari Park, located just outside Stirling, is only a half hour drive away and a visit to Stirling can provide lots of historical places of interest to explore or a spot of retail therapy!The property is all on ground floor level has oil central heating. |
