Situated in the lovely rural village of Morebattle and surrounded by glorious border scenery this well presented cottage is tastefully furnished with every attention to detail to ensure a relaxed and comfortable stay at any time of the year. This inviting cottage has a beamed ceiling and an unusual spiral staircase to reach the first floor sunny bedroom and spacious bathroom. The area is a haven for walkers and lovers of the countryside; St Cuthbert’s Way passes close by and the long distance path, The Pennine Way wends its way to finish in the next village of Kirk Yetholm. Take time to visit the fine Border Abbeys of Melrose, Kelso, Jedburgh and Dryburgh, Floors Castle or Abbortsford, home of the author Walter Scott. The area is steeped in the history of the borders, the reivers and their conflicts. Fishing is available on the River Tweed and golf is also available locally. Conveniently there is an inn within walking distance serving good food and a local shop for newspapers and everyday needs, Kelso 6 miles away has shops, pubs tea rooms and restaurants arranged around the town square. There is a bus link to the village from Berwick-upon-Tweed railway station from May to September.
