| About Castle Hill Apartment** |
Cottage rental includes |
| Castle Hill Apartment is located in the very heart of the City of Stirling, situated in the Old Town quarter with its wide, quaint cobbled streets, surrounded by many ancient and historical buildings. This first floor apartment offers comfortable, convenient accommodation to explore this historic City. With two good sized double rooms, a light and airy lounge / diner and separate kitchen it provides a great base to explore this lovely area. There is an excellent shopping centre, leisure facilities and a multi screen cinema all within easy walking distance. There are numerous eateries and pubs within the city centre and across the road from Castle Hill Apartment is a 5 star restaurant. The Old Town is home to most of Stirling's famous historical buildings. On Broad Street itself there is the Tolbooth - with its destructive clock tower, once was a court of law, it is now a cultural centre offering a wide variety of live music and arts venue; Mar's Wark sits at the top of the Street and was built as the home for the Keeper of Stirling Castle, the Earl of Mar, now only a shell remains of the once splendid renaissance style town house with stone carvings, panels and gargoyles. Stirling Old Town Jail and the Church of the Holy Rude are also close by. At the top of the hill is Stirling Castle itself and is a must to visit, offering a great day out for all the family. Explore the Castle and learn about its amazing history over the centuries, visiting the Great Hall, the Regimental museum, the Great Kitchens, Chapel Royal and Argyl's Lodging. The Castle is also home to the Stirling's Tapestries. From this hill top location you have an amazing view out over Stirling and beyond. The Wallace Monument stands proudly and is also well worth a visit. Delve into the history behind William Wallace, Robert the Bruce King of Scotland and Robert Roy MacGregor. It is only a short drive to the Ochil Hills to enjoy a walk in the countryside or go a little further to the explore the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The Trossachs is an amazing area for outdoor enthusiasts as there are endless miles of forest roads and trails to explore, both walking and cycling. There are many activities for every age and interest including the Blair Drummond Safari Park, the Falkirk Wheel, Knockhill Race Course, numerous golf courses and lochs for fishing or water sports. Stirling has good motorway links to explore further afield Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Fife can all be easily reached (each less than a hours drive away). This is a fantastic central location to explore central Scotland, which has something to offer the whole family or to just enjoy the City of Stirling and all that it has to offer. The accommodation is all on first floor level has gas central heating. |
