About Castlehill Farm Cottage Cottage rental includes
Castlehill Farm Cottage is a beautifully appointed property located within ten acres of farmland, just outside the Conservation Village of Eaglesham. This property commands a striking view north over Glasgow, to the Campsie Fells and towards the mountains of the Trossachs. The accommodation is all in one level with an open plan living space. The kitchen is fully fitted with breakfast bar and there is a dining table and chairs and the lounge area has two large comfortable cream sofas. The large double bedroom has a low window providing a fantastic view. There is shared used of the courtyard but on the other side of the property is an enclosed area with private patio and a field of some 3 acres. You are within easily walking distance into Eaglesham, the original part of the village has quaint buildings and a village green locally known as The Orry. Eaglesham has a fascinating history of estate ownership and cotton mills. The oldest part of the village was listed in the 1960's and was the first ever Scottish Conservation Village. There are a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants providing you with all the essentials. Outside Eaglesham itself high on the hillside is Europe's largest on-shore wind farm Whitelee. It offers over 56 miles of pathways giving walkers, cyclist and horse-riders access to a large area of countryside. It also has its own visitor centre with shop and cafe. An 18-hole golf course at Bonnyton is only 5 minutes away. Fishing permits are available for the River Cart and there are a number of stocked lochs for a spot of angling. Retail therapy is accessible at Silverburn and East Kilbride, less than 15 minutes drive away. Castlehill Farm provides great motorway links allowing easy access to explore this central location. Troon is less than a half hour drive away providing a seaside location, a ferry link to Ireland and not forgetting, the famous Royal Troon Links Golf Course. There are also many other popular coastal towns with sandy beaches, shopping and leisure facilities. From Ardrossan you can catch the ferry for Arran or head up the coast to Largs and take the short ferry crossing to Great Cumbrae for a gently cycle around this small island. Ayrshire is famous for its many historical links, especially Robert Burns, so a visit to his birthplace in Alloway is a must.
