About Craig Mhor Cottage Cottage rental includes
Ideally positioned in the heart of the picturesque village of Fortingall, this charming detached cottage offers tasteful and welcoming single storey holiday accommodation. Craig Mhor Cottage has a pretty garden with a decked area, perfect for those warm summer evenings, the burn trickling through the garden offers the finishing touch. Fortingall is most famous for the ancient Yew tree in the grounds of the church, believed to be more than 2,000 years old. The village lies at the entrance to Glen Lyon, often described as the longest and loveliest Glen in Scotland. Kenmore is approx 6 miles; the village has much to offer with 2 golf courses, horse riding and a good selection of water sports on Loch Tay. The award winning Scottish Crannog Centre features a unique reconstruction of an early iron age loch dwelling, and is well worth a visit. At the opposite end of Loch Tay is the village of Killin with the Falls of Dochart in the village centre. On your way to Aberfeldy you could visit the local deli and farmshop, take a highland safari and learn about the local wildlife, try your hand at gold panning or call in at Castle Menzies.Aberfeldy has a good range of shops including the watermill, which has been lovingly restored and is now a bookshop, art gallery and coffee house. On the outskirts of Aberfeldy is the Dewars world of whisky where you can take a tour and sample a glass of the good stuff! Aberfeldy is well known for outdoor activities, with an excellent offering of water sports, an 18 hole golf course and salmon fishing on the River Tay (permits are available locally). Walkers and cyclists can follow a good range of easy, moderate and demanding routes through forests, along rivers and up mountains! A good number of Munros (mountains over 3,000ft) are within easy reach - including Ben Lawers, Scotland's 10th highest mountain.
