Ballyconneely 6 miles south from Clifden, and the entry point to the Errismore Peninsula, is an ideal place from which to explore the many fine beaches, some with coral strands, situated along the nearby Ballyconneely and Mannion Bays. Connemara National Park is a 2000 hectare state owned conservation centre made up of mountains, bogs and grasslands with spectacular wildlife. Facilities include an audio-visual show and photographic display of Connemara scenery. There are picnic facilities, nature trails and a summer series of walks and illustrated talks - definitely worth a visit!
