The traditional features of yesteryear, the thatched roof and half gate door entrance, the peat burning stove and tasteful décor blend in with modern conveniences. The village boasts two pubs, village store and a craft shop with tea rooms. There are many noted restaurants on Lough Derg, the nearest lakeside village being Dromineer village (3 miles), a popular place for swimmers, anglers, yachting, water-skiers and windsurfers. Puckane - This picturesque, sleepy village has everything you need for the perfect Irish holiday. Not only is it close to beautiful Lough Derg, its location is perfectly central for touring, with easy day trips to most of Ireland's popular destinations. Its two traditional pubs and well stocked village shops are within a short stroll from the cottage and the village also boasts a craft shop and tea rooms.
Nearest Town (6 miles) Nenagh - this bustling provincial town owes its origins to the Norman Butlers who built a castle here in 1220. Nearby are the remains of a medieval Franciscan Abbey. In the mid 19th century, it prospered as a garrison town. Reminders of this period are to be seen in the preserved façade of the Old County Jail. Nenagh retains its traditional Irish look and has many quirky shops, modern stores, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Geographically, Nenagh is on a fertile plain bordered on the south of the Silvermines Mountains and on the west by the Arra mountains.
Lough Derg (3 miles) - Ireland's largest pleasure lake, Lough Derg has something for everyone. It is renowned for game and course angling, boating, sailing, windsurfing and skiing. The shores of Lough Derg are home to many picturesque villages and the lake itself dotted with islands, the most famous of which Inis Cealtra - Holy Island, which is the site of a 7th century monastic settlement. Lough Derg is also popular for day cruises - for those of you who would like a short afternoon cruise, to the more adventurous who would rather charter their own boar; :Lough Derg can be enjoyed and appreciated by all. There are sailboats to rental, yachts to charter, fishing boats to rent, sailing outings and sailing tuition.

Situated 3 miles North of Nenagh town, the sand based hills of Beechwood provide the perfect setting for this superb championship course, which offers spectacular views over wonderful Tipperary countryside stretching from Silvermines and Arra Mountains across to Lough Derg.
