Nearby there are several beautiful long sandy beaches, and Connemara National Park which spans about 2000 hectares of bog, mountain and heath is also within walking distance. From Cleggan village it is possible in summer to catch a ferry to Inisbofin (Inis Bo Finne) and experience a real trip back in time.
