Nestled in the peaceful and quiet village of Cellardyke, Heron House is a charming fishermans cottage which has been tastefully furnished throughout. The rooms offer a comfortable, relaxing feel and even allow a glimpse of the sea. Being so close to the shore makes Heron House the perfect location from which to enjoy breakfast watching the waves or spend an evening strolling along to the harbour to watch the sun go down over the sea. Cellardyke is just a short walk from the neighbouring village of Anstruther where you can find quality restaurants including the award winning Anstruther Fish bar and The Cellar Restaurant holder of 3AA rosettes and seafood restaurant of the year. You will also come across a good selection of small independent shops and galleries. Just off the coast from Anstruther is the Isle of May, a world renowned bird sanctuary and nature reserve. With 200 different species of birds, you can take a boat trip for a closer look during the summer. Heron House is located on the Fife coastal path, a popular walk along the coastal fringe of Fife. The walk is approx 82 miles in total and is suitable for all ages/capabilities. It passes through the beautiful Shell Bay, all the way to Elie, Crail & St Andrews. The commanding views across the Firth of Forth to the City of Edinburgh and northerly to the Angus coast and the Firth of Tay are simply spectacular. St Andrews, the home of golf is just a short journey and there are numerous 9 and 18-hole golf courses to choose from. Whilst in St Andrews take a trip to the botanical gardens or wander along the blue flag beaches. Idyllically situated, Heron House is an excellent base for a family holiday or a group of friends.Small table and two chairs on first floor level in sheltered area at rear of property.
