| About Honeyholm Croft |
Cottage rental includes |
| Honeyholm Croft is a beautifully appointed semi-detached property sitting on the banks of the River Endrick, looking south over to the Dumgoyne Hills and Campsie Fells. Situated on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, this property has in a peaceful countryside location within the Strathendrick Valley. The cottage is over 400 years old and has been lovingly restored to a very high standard. The building is full of character features. The ground floor main living space is open plan with a stone fireplace, slate hearth and wood burning stove. Wonderful oak flooring and French doors leading out onto a patio area provide a stunning view down to the river and out over to the hills. The kitchen/dining area has stone flooring and French doors overlooking the rear courtyard. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped, including a large range style cooker. All the bedrooms have been beautifully co-ordinated and each has its own luxury en suite bathroom facility. The upstairs rooms have coombed ceilings and dormer windows. You are only a short walk or drive away from the village of Balfron, which has great local facilities with a butcher, deli, grocery & gift shops and a few pub/restaurants to choose from. The village has an 18-hole golf course, a full sized swimming pool, and well equipped gym, tennis and badminton courts. The surrounding villages of Fintry, Killearn & Kippen also offer a great selection of local facilities and eateries. Fishing is available (by permit) on the numerous surrounding lochs & rivers but you are free to fish in the river at the end of the garden. The Carron Valley has graded mountain bike trails. The surrounding hills provide a variety of walking tracks and the Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb such as Ben Lomond, Ben A'an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi. The area has an abundance of wildlife: ospreys, red squirrels, deer and pine martens to name a few. There are numerous local activities available for every age including clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safaris, quad biking and sailing. For the more adventurous Aberfoyle has a high wire forest experience, with the longest zip wire in Britain. It is an area steeped in history and there are many places of interest to visit. The Loch Katrine Steamship Sir Walter Scott is a great cruise; there are also cruises available on Loch Lomond which is only 12 miles away. Blair Drummond Safari Park is located just outside Stirling and a visit to Stirling town itself provides numerous historical places of interest to explore, or a spot of retail therapy. This central location within Stirlingshire means you can enjoy all that it has to offer or explore further afield to places such as Perthshire, Fife, Edinburgh & Glasgow - all within easy reach for a day trip adventure. Honeyholm Croft provides an excellent base to explore this stunning region or to simply relax and enjoy the countryside right on the door step. |
