The surrounding area a haven for abundant birdlife and offering wonderful climbing and hill walking holds many delights. Just 2 miles away the tours at Talisker Distillery are a popular attraction and at Dunvegan Castle (15 miles) home to the Macleod clan visitors can take seal boat excursions on the loch as well as exploring the castle's fascinating interior and extensive grounds and formal gardens. The island's principal town Portree 16 miles boasts sports facilities (including cycle hire) good shopping and the Aros Centre with its cinema exhibitions and restaurants. A visit to the south of the island 'the garden of Skye' and the Clan Donald Centre with its lovely grounds and boat excursions on magical Loch Coruisk hidden in the Cuillens is a must.
