The Property



A delightful terraced cottage, over 100 years old, with lovely sea views in the small fishing village of Hilton, one of the three 'Seaboard' villages on the Moray coast. This comfortable well renovated Moray coast cottage is close to the shore of the beautiful Moray Firth, in a very scenic and peaceful location. Extensively upgraded, retaining many original features, this Moray coast cottage offers traditional accommodation of a high standard, with three bedrooms, a fitted kitchen with dining area, and a sitting room with a feature stone wall and an open fire. With many diverse local attractions, the area around this Moray coast cottage offers a wealth of wildlife, and boasts a wonderfully temperate climate along with the lowest rainfall in Scotland. The adjoining village of Shandwick has an award winning Blue-Flag beach, which is perfect for children. For keen walkers there are lovely coastal walks easily accessible from this Moray coast cottage. The superb replica of the Hilton Standing Stone is just a few minutes stroll from this Moray coast cottage, and with shops, a post office, cafe, restaurant and pub all within easy walking distance of Mara Cottage, this is an idyllic retreat for a relaxing coastal holiday.

The three lovely villages of Hilton, Shandwick and Ballintore of the Easter Ross Seaboard blend into each other and together offer many attractions and amenities. The furthest north is Hilton which has an excellent replica of the Hilton Standing Stone as the original resides in the National Museum of Scotland. Balintore offers a shop, pub and restaurant. Shandwick is the most southern of the Easter Ross Seaboard and has a wonderful Shandwick stone which dates back to around 708 AD. The lovely Fearn Abbey, founded in 1238 is situated a couple of miles inland and is well worth a visit. Nearby there is something for everyone, from the Glenmorangie whisky distillery, golf courses, dolphin spotting to beautiful beaches, superb walks and fishing villages. This is a peaceful location to enjoy the attractions and villages within this part of Scotland. Full electric central heating, additional heating from open fire in sitting room.
