| Mousehole Annexe is attached to the attractive, stonebuilt Streetgate Farmhouse and nestled in a pleasant cul-de-sac within the residential area of Sunniside, only a few miles west of Gateshead and Netoiletastle. Yet, the Watergate Forest Park Local Nature Reserve is a mere gentle stroll from this newly renovated property where a wide species of wildlife call 'home'. A way marked 1.4 mile circular trail around Watergates' Lake offers excellent opportunities to spot the wildlife close at hand and visitors will enjoy the footpaths and bridle ways of Watergate Forest Park into Washingwell Wood. The Tanfield Railway path also offers a superb recreational route for exercising dogs close by. Golfing enthusiasts will enthuse in the ample choice of several prestigious courses within easy reach, one being the superior De Vere Slaley course. Ramblers and cyclists will enjoy exploring the heather moorlands across the easily accessible Hadrian's Wall Country and the Northern Pennines with their rugged uplands which include some of the highest, wildest and most beautiful scenery in the country. Hamsterley Forest provides miles of lovely forest walks leading to High Force; England's largest waterfall. The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey offers an abundance of amenities and the pretty village of Corbridge renowned for its specialist shops and quaint tea rooms are both within a half hour drive west. Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Beamish Museum, Vindolands, the Roman site at Corstopitum and Housesteads Roman Fort Museum are all interesting historic attractions within easy driving distance. The vibrant city of Netoiletastle, well known for its global, cultural pursuits and the extensive shopping facilities at the world renowned Gateshead Metro Centre, along with the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Baltic Centre and the Sage Gateshead music venue are only a few miles east, ensuring Mousehole Annexe provides a cosy retreat for couples in an excellent central location for exploring this popular region. |
