A delightful stone-built semi-detached farm cottage with stunning panoramic views over the countryside, on a family-run working beef and sheep farm, in lovely rolling countryside next to the River Nith, 3 miles from the small village of New Cumnock. The cottage is attached to the main farmhouse, and is well-equipped and decorated with charm and style, making a comfortable, cosy base, perfect for families. There is excellent walking from the door, fishing is readily available and shooting may be arranged. This part of Scotland is firmly associated with the poet Robert Burns, and the cottage is just a few miles away from the fascinating Burns trail. A lovely Scotland cottage, and a great base for touring this glorious part of the country.

| Steeped in history and dating back to the 13th century, the village of New Cumnock is famous for its association with the renowned poet Robert Burns, who frequently visited the nearby valley of Glen Afton. Inspiring the song 'Flow gently sweet Afton among thy green braes', the valley is a stunning spot and makes an excellent backdrop for country walks. Close by, a memorial cairn has been created by local Burns enthusiasts, and has become an attractive picnic area. Ideally situated for exploring the stunning scenery of Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran, this region boasts the stunning links golf courses of Royal Troon and Turnberry - both well worth a visit for enthusiasts of the sport. The seaside resort of Ayr is also within easy driving distance and offers excellent shops, bars, restaurants and sandy beaches, amongst other attractions. |
