About Pinewood
Cottage rental includes
Located along the main street of the Scottish borders village of Reston, this ground floor apartment has been newly refurbished to provide tastefully furnished holiday accommodation. The traditional coastal village of Eyemouth is only 5 miles east and there's a glorious golden, sandy beach at Coldingham Bay only 3 miles away. The picturesque working harbour and lifeboat station at St Abbs (described in the AA Book of Britain's Countryside "as perhaps the greatest glory in the Scottish Border's") is 4 miles where you can enjoy a cliff top stroll and watch the fishing trawlers return with their daily catch..... Reston is only half a mile west of the A1, some 10 miles north of the elegant Georgian town of Berwick, which straddles the salmon-rich River Tweed and where many facilities are available including a cinema/theatre, indoor swimming and a vast array of restaurants and shops. Paxton House, Manderston, Floors Castle and the majestic Bamburgh castle are but a small selection of interesting visitor attractions close by and the tidal island of Lindisfarne (known as Holy Island) can be reached by a causeway, which is safe to cross twice daily. Golf enthusiasts will delight in the many prestigious courses close by and walkers and cyclists will enjoy the challenge of the Southern Upland Way, which routes through the Lammermuir Hills. The festival city of Edinburgh is only around an hour's drive (47 miles) north and the pretty 'border toon' of Kelso, with it's quaint cobbled streets is around 30 miles west making Pinewood an excellent base to explore the Scottish Borders and north Northumberland alike.Property has electric storage heaters.
