The Property
A cosy detached bungalow, one of three properties on the owners’ 30-acre smallholding, on the edge of the rural hamlet of Longville in the Dale, close to the lovely Caradoc Hills and the Wenlock Edge. This welcoming Shropshire cottage offers comfortable accommodation for a family or couple alike, with a romantic four-poster, flexible second bedroom and a woodburner to ensure a warm, cosy atmosphere. Nearby are the pretty village of Cardington, home to the oldest pub in Shropshire, and the picturesque towns of Church Stretton and Much Wenlock, which are overlooked by the wonderful Long Mynd Hills and the Wenlock Edge. An ideal base for walkers and cyclists, the property is also within easy reach of medieval Ludlow and Shrewsbury, and the area's many attractions including Stokesay Castle, Acton Scott Historic Farm, The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge with its ten wonderful museums.

| Close to the village of Cardington, the little hamlet of Longville lies at the foot of Caradoc and Lawley Hills in the South Shropshire countryside. Nearby Cardington boasts the oldest pub in Shropshire - The Royal Oak – which has been recorded as far back as the Domesday Book. The settlement's rural situation is ideal for walkers, with miles of country trails in all directions. Cyclists and horse-riding enthusiasts can also enjoy a wealth of off-road pathways. Buzzards, woodpeckers and ravens have all been seen in the local area, making this a popular place amongst bird watchers. Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, Severn Valley Steam Railway, Stokesay Castle, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and the Ironbridge Gorge are all within 15 miles of Cardington, whilst Church Stretton, known as "Little Switzerland" by the Victorians, is also close by. |
