Lismore, Blackwater Valley, County Waterford ref 3856 Lismore, with its fairytale castle and amazing cathedral, is one of the most picturesque little towns in Ireland. In fact it is twice winner of the Ireland Tidy Town Competition. This renovated cottage is charming, has a large enclosed back garden and is within walking distance of the town centre. All mod cons have been incorporated, yet its character remains intact. The second lounge is a reading room with bookshelves and a rocking chair. Cork and Waterford are under an hour away, as are the fabulous beaches of the South Coast.

Local music is available within a 1/4 of a mile in the The Classroom Pub on a Thursday night and in the Lismore Hotel on a Friday night (during the summer months music is played on Saturdays as well.) Nearest Cinema is Dungarvan (9 miles) and the nearest indoor swimming pool is in Fermoy (12 miles). The Heritage Centre in the town is well worth a visit.
Possibly the most spectacular castle in Ireland, Lismore has been the home of the Duke of Devonshire since 1748. About mid way between Waterford and Cork cities, the castle is set on a hill above the charming Heritage town of Lismore. It overlooks the Duke's estate of 8000 acres, which extends the along the Blackwater Valley and across the rolling wooded hills up to the crest of the Knockmealdown Mountains. Wow!
