Passage East Car Ferry is a 10 minute drive away and you can be in Waterford in less than 1/2 hour making this an ideal base to enjoy the Sunny South East Coastline.

Duncannon has a sandy beach with fishing and pleasing amenities, which makes it a very popular resort.Duncannon is a pretty fishing village on the famous Hook peninsula. The sandy beach which is the focus of the village is a very popular swimming and sunbathing spot where an international Sand Sculpting Festival takes place every year. This popular seaside village boasts a star shaped fortress, Duncannon Fort, which was built in 1588. The fort, which incorporates a maritime museum, Cockleshells Arts Centre, café and craft shop is open to visitors from June to September daily. Visitors to the area can also enjoy the very scenic Ring of Hook drive which takes visitors along a wealth of historic sites and coastal roads reaching Hook Lighthouse. Duncannon is a great base for touring with many interesting attractions close by including Hook Lighthouse, Dunbrody Famine Ship, the J.F.K. Arboretum, Kennedy Homestead and the Kilmokea Gardens. Shop, pubs, restaurants, playground, tennis courts, golf and fishing close by.
