The rural village of Whitford in North Wales is located a few miles from the Dee Estuary, three miles from Holywell and is also close to the Roman city of Chester. The village has a children's play area and there is a pub and restaurant close by. Also close by is a Roman watchtower which has a fantastic 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside.
Just three miles away is the pretty town of Holywell. The most famous attraction is the wonderful St. Winefride's Well, which is one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and the remains of the 12th Century Basingwerk Abbey.
For those you like walking, the walking routes and trails of Pennant Walk, Offa's Dyke Pathway and The Clwydian Range all nearby.
Chester with its Roman Walls, black and white buildings and shops is only 18 miles away.
