Set in a quiet rural location in a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ this 18th Century stone barn conversion is just 1 mile from the market town of Alston. The cottage is comfortably furnished and has its own outside sitting area. A good base for exploring Tynedale and the North Pennines by foot, bicycle or car, with many places of interest to visit including Alston’s narrow gauge railway, Nenthead mines, Pennine Pottery and local crafts. The Pennine Way runs past the door, with walks in all directions from the doorstep. Alston with its quaint cobbled main street has a range of individual shops, character inns, restaurants and tearooms. The Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall, Beamish Museum, Carlisle and the Scottish Borders are all within easy driving distance. This spacious cottage is ideal for families or couples.
