Within easy reach are West Bay Bridport and its twice weekly street markets and Lyme Regis - a bustling seaside town offering south-facing beaches, Jazz Festival, Carnival and Regatta Week and plentiful boat and fishing excursions - and the picturesque village of Charmouth renowned for its famous fossil beach. Further afield are the diverse attractions of Corfe Castle, Cerne Abbas and its giant Dorchester - the centre of Hardy's Wessex, Swanage, Wareham and Weymouth.
