The Tower House has oil fired central heating and open fires and comprises:

Entrance hall: With ample space for hanging outdoor gear.

Utility room: With washing machine, tumble dryer and hand basin and toilet .

Breakfast room: With large fridge and separate freezer. Selection of books, videos and DVD's available.

Kitchen/diner with Aga, (no conventional cooker), dishwashing machine and microwave with conventional oven facility, TV with DVD player.

Sitting Area: Further sitting area off breakfast room with easy seating and views of the courtyard.

Playroom: With colour TV and an excellent selection of children's books, toys and board games.

Dining Room: Grand dining hall with open fire via a wood panelled reception hall.

Lounge: Lounge with open fire, colour TV, with video/DVD/ CD player and ample seating for 9.

First Floor Accommodation

About The Tower House

Only 10 minutes drive from the M6 motorway. Ideally placed for exploring the delights of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, Windermere is a mere 25 minutes drive away with Sedbergh and the impressive Howgill fells a 10 minute walk from the door. Once home to Elizabeth Gaunt, the last woman to be burned at the stake at Tyburn and a principal hiding place of Prince Charlie, The Tower House has a significant history, and the property retains the tower, which was used as a lookout for raiders from the Borders. Comfortable furnishings with many personal touches blend well with original features of oak panelling, flagstone floors and exposed stonework. The accommodation is spacious and flexible offering ample of opportunity for escaping the rest of the party, both inside and out, to sit quietly and absorb the ambience of this truly unique house. The grounds are lovely with a variety of areas for sitting out and ample of level playing ground, including an orchard for the younger members of your party to run off some energy before enjoying dinner in the impressive dining hall.

All fuel, bed linen and towels available. Travel cot and high chair at the property. Mobile telephone (with Pay as You Go top up card) provided for guests use.

Well tended courtyard and gardens, all fully enclosed. Patio furniture and BBQ provided. Double garage available and ample parking for up to four cars.

Refundable deposit of 200 is required prior to arrival.

This property will accept short breaks all year round, irrespective of when they are booked except for Christmas and New Year, as long as they don't cross over a 2 week period.
