| About Tigh A' Bheannaich |
Cottage rental includes |
Located in the village of Aird Uig, a small community on the West Coast of the Isle of Lewis, Tigh a’ Bheannaich offers a wonderful retreat for couples and young families looking for a truly get-away-from it all holiday. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard and set on the Gallan Head Peninsula, Tigh a’ Bheannaich offers stunning views towards the glen and nearby sea views from the garden and you are assured of a comfortable stay at all times of the year - in winter the Aurora Borealis can also be seen on clear nights. The area of Uig has 10 sandy beaches with Uig sands stretching over 2 square kilometres. There is a large selection of outdoor activities to choose from, including golf, diving, riding, kite-surfing as well as opportunities to take a boat trip to the now uninhabited island of St Kilda. As well as the local flora and fauna to spot, there are many ancient sites to explore including the famous 4,000 year old Callanish Standing Stones with ample of local art and craft workshops to browse around on inclement days. There are also several restaurants and hotels serving food on the island, the Gallan Head restaurant is within walking distance. The Isle of Lewis is accessible by ferry from Ullapool into the bustling harbour town of Stornoway. |
