Quietly set away from the main road but only minutes walk from the village shop and pub, ideally situated for exploring Hadrian's Wall (including Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail). Vindolanda, Housesteads Roman Fort Museum and many more aspects of this superb Roman architecture are found locally, and a trip to the Beamish centre ‘brings the past to life’. Haydon Bridge is close to the South Tyne River and only 15 minutes drive from Hexham with its Saxon abbey, tea-shops and excellent leisure facilities. Allan Banks National Trust Woods, beautiful riverside walks and picnic areas 3 miles away. The superb Northumbrian coastline with its long sandy beaches makes a good days outing and a little further north romantic Holy Island is well worth a visit. For shopping the Metro Centre is easily accessible, and Kielder Water offers forest drives, walks, water sports and cycling tracks. The bungalow has oil fired central heating and is carefully looked after by the owner to provide a warm and cosy base.
