In the idyllic setting of Harwood Dale one of the loveliest valleys of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park surrounded by rolling hills meandering rivers and ancient woodland a group of handsome 17th century barns have been converted to create these five individually designed cottages. Retaining original beams and offering particularly spacious accommodation they sit round a pretty courtyard in the owners' 100 acres of grounds which visitors are free to roam enjoying glorious views and a nature reserve with a 5 acre wildlife lake. There is also a fenced children's play area. With the Heritage coast just 3 miles away picturesque Robin's Hood Bay only 6 miles and the North York Moors Steam Railway a mere 30 minutes' drive the cottages offer a wonderful holiday base in a fascinating part of Yorkshire.
Whitby (10 miles) boasts lovely sandy beaches great fish restaurants and many arts and craft shops amidst its quaint cobbled streets as well as fishing and boat trips from the harbour where there is usually a visiting 'tall ship' whilst Scarborough offers traditional seaside entertainment great theatre and a sea life centre. Lovely walking locally and on the Heartbeat moorlands and for energetic walkers the Cleveland Way affords magnificent views. Cyclists will enjoy the Scarborough to Whitby trail and the Dalby Forest trails. Good restaurants and pubs within 3 miles. Summer pub ½ mile local shops 3 miles.
